How is IELTS overall band calculated?

Average of 4 sections (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking), rounded to nearest 0.5. Example: 7+7+6.5+7.5 = 28/4 = 7.0. If average is 6.875, rounds to 7.0; if 6.625, rounds to 6.5.

What IELTS band do I need for foreign universities?

Most US/UK/Canada/Australia universities require 6.5-7.0 minimum. Top universities (Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard): 7.5+. Each section often needs minimum 6.0/6.5. Check specific university requirements.

What's a good IELTS score in Pakistan?

7.0+ is considered good. 7.5+ is excellent. Most Pakistani test takers score 5.5-6.5 on first attempt. With dedicated preparation, 7.0+ is achievable.

Difference between Academic and General IELTS?
