HOW WE WORK

Editorial Policy & Methodology

Why you can trust the numbers on PakCalc — and what we do when we get something wrong.

LAST UPDATED: 4 NOVEMBER 2026

1. Every calculator starts from an official source

Before building or updating a tool we read the primary source, not a blog summary. Our main sources are:

2. Formulas are shown, not hidden

Each calculator page explains the exact formula and includes worked examples. Every example is generated by running the calculator's own code, so the numbers on the page always match what the tool returns.

3. Testing

  • We check results against hand calculations and, where available, official calculators or published tables.
  • We test edge cases such as slab boundaries, leap years, zero values and very large inputs.
  • We test on mobile phones, because most of our visitors use one.

4. Updates when rules change

We monitor federal budgets, Finance Acts, FBR circulars, NEPRA decisions and university notices. When a rule changes we update the calculator, its examples and the "last updated" date on the page. For example, the salary tax calculator was updated for the Finance Act 2026 slabs that apply from 1 July 2026.

5. Corrections

If you find a mistake, email hello@pakcalc.com.pk or use the contact page. We aim to review reports within 48 hours and correct confirmed errors straight away.

6. Independence and advertising

PakCalc is funded by display advertising. Advertisers have no influence over our calculators, rates or guides, and we do not accept payment to change results or rankings.
