Frequently asked questions

How is discount calculated?

Savings = Original × Discount% / 100. Final Price = Original − Savings. Example: Rs. 5000 with 20% off → Save Rs. 1000, pay Rs. 4000.

How to find original price from discounted?

Original = Final / (1 − Discount%/100). If you paid Rs. 4000 with 20% off: Original = 4000/0.8 = Rs. 5000.

What does '50% off' mean?

Half price. Rs. 1000 item with 50% off costs Rs. 500. You save Rs. 500. Common in Pakistani sales like Daraz, Independence Day promotions.

Can discount be over 100%?

No, maximum is 100% (free). Sometimes ads show 'up to 90% off' but this is for selected items only — read fine print before buying.

How to compare two discounts?

Calculate final price for both. Sometimes 30% off might be better than 'Buy 1 Get 1 Free' depending on prices. Always calculate per-item cost.

Are taxes included after discount?

Usually GST is added AFTER discount in Pakistan. So Rs. 5000 × 0.8 (20% off) = Rs. 4000 + 18% GST = Rs. 4720 final. Check the bill carefully.
